Metal leaf transfer is the ideal solution for gilding larger surfaces such as walls, doors or large pieces of furniture. In contrast to loose metal leaf, the metal is applied to a fine carrier material, making it particularly easy to pick up, guide and position the leaf precisely. <\/p>\n
The transfer sheet adheres reliably to a thin backing paper or tissue, which makes work much more controlled – especially on flat, extensive surfaces. This makes this variant ideal for even gilding with less waste and a clean result. <\/p>\n
The use of Annie Sloan Gold Size application milk is recommended for the application. This is applied evenly to the desired surface and ensures optimum adhesion of the metal leaf once it has dried. The transfer sheet is then applied, gently pressed on and the backing carefully removed so that the metal remains clean on the surface. <\/p>\n
We offer transfer leaf metal in various designs: Imitation gold, imitation silver and copper. These can be used to create classic, elegant looks as well as modern or deliberately imperfect effects. <\/p>\n
Product information:<\/strong> Imitation gold is often referred to as “fake gold” and is made of brass. This metal can tarnish over time. To protect the gold-plated surface, a final coat of transparent Chalk Paint\u2122 Wax should be applied. <\/p>\n Imitation silver is made of aluminum. To achieve an authentic vintage silver look, it is recommended to apply a thin layer of transparent Chalk Paint\u2122 Wax after gold plating and then work out light patina effects with dark Chalk Paint\u2122 Wax. <\/p>\n Copper leaf is made of copper, which also tends to tarnish. Here too, a final seal with transparent Chalk Paint\u2122 Wax ensures long-term protection of the metallic effect. <\/p>\n Our transfer sheet metal is available in booklets of 25 sheets. One booklet is sufficient for an area of approx. 0.49 m\u00b2.
