The wax visibly enhances the depth of color and makes colors appear vibrant. The surface can remain matt or be polished to a subtle to higher gloss, as desired. Clear Chalk Paint\u2122 Wax is also water-repellent, making it suitable for furniture subject to heavy use, such as dining tables or kitchen cabinets. <\/p>\n
After painting, interior furniture is sealed with a thin layer of clear chalk paint wax. Apply the wax with a Chalk Paint\u2122 wax brush, working in small sections. Remove excess wax with a clean, lint-free cloth to achieve an even finish. <\/p>\n
For an antique effect, the surface can be lightly sanded after drying so that the underlying paint layer becomes visible again in places. A second thin layer of clear chalk paint wax is then applied to protect the effect and seal the surface again. <\/p>\n
Wait until the first coat of chalk paint wax is dry to the touch before applying a second coat. Depending on the ambient temperature, humidity and layer thickness, this usually takes about an hour. <\/p>\n
