IOD Decor Mould Spring Garden – garden inspiration with playful naturalness

The IOD Decor Mould Spring Garden is inspired by classic leaf dishes and traditional garden motifs. The focus is on the characteristic cabbage leaf with its distinctive veining, complemented by spring vegetables such as carrots and a small snail companion, which lends the set a charming lightness.

The leaf motifs can be used flat or shaped into small bowls, trays or decorative elements. Individual motifs can be cut out and used for signs, lettering or layered projects. In combination with other spring motifs, a lively, natural visual language is created.

Spring Garden is ideal for seasonal decorations, furniture accents or table objects, but can also be used all year round in nature-inspired projects. The shape combines playful details with a calm, organic structure.

IOD Moulds – high-quality silicone moulds for furniture upcycling, decoration & creative projects

The IOD Moulds from :contentReference[oaicite:0]{index=0} are detailed silicone moulds for sophisticated furniture upcycling, creative surface design and arts and crafts work. They can be used to create decorative ornaments, applications and decorative elements that give furniture, frames, trays, doors or home accessories a special depth and handcrafted look.

Made from food-safe, flexible silicone, IOD Moulds are characterized by their exceptional attention to detail and durability. The finest structures are reproduced precisely and can be removed effortlessly thanks to the elastic material. Especially in furniture upcycling, they are an indispensable tool for enhancing plain surfaces, reinterpreting old furniture or authentically recreating historical character.

IOD molds are versatile and can be used with different media. Air-drying clay and paperclay are particularly popular in the upcycling sector, as the ornaments can be applied directly to furniture or decorative elements while still wet. This allows them to fit perfectly around curves, profiles and edges and, once dry, they appear to be firmly integrated. Alternatively, casting resins can be used to produce stable, dimensionally stable ornaments that are ideal for highly stressed or intricate details.

After drying or hardening, the molded parts can be sanded, painted, patinated, waxed or varnished. In combination with chalk paints, mineral paints or gilding techniques, individual surfaces with depth, texture and character are created – perfect for sustainable furniture upcycling with a personal signature.

Thanks to the food-safe silicone, the IOD molds are also suitable for processing chocolate, fondant or dough. However, please note: Only use molds reserved for food applications and keep them separate from molds that are used for paints, resins or other creative media.

Whether for furniture upcycling, decorative accents, mixed media projects or creative DIY ideas: IOD molds open up almost unlimited design possibilities. They combine quality craftsmanship with creative freedom and are an essential tool for anyone who wants to turn something existing into something special.

Surface preparation for IOD molds / silicone molds:

  • Before using your IOD molds for the first time, clean them with warm water and a little mild detergent to remove any production residue.
  • Dry the molds thoroughly before using them again.
  • The molds are made of food-safe silicone. However, use separate sets for food and for arts and crafts – please never mix.
  • Always work on a clean, flat surface and make sure that no dust or lint gets into the mold.
  • When using casting resins, the use of a suitable mold release agent is recommended to protect the silicone mold and ensure easy demolding.

Step-by-step instructions for using IOD Moulds:

  1. Selection of the medium:
    • IOD Moulds can be used with a wide variety of materials – including air-drying clay, paperclay, casting resin, soap, wax or baking masses.
    • Each medium has its own properties in terms of flexibility, shrinkage and stability.
  2. Working with air-drying clay / paperclay:
    • IOD Paperclay is an air-drying paper-based medium.
    • Slight shrinkage, warping or fine cracking is typical of the material and supports an authentic vintage look.
    • Carefully press the clay into the mold and make sure that all the details are neatly worked out.
    • Ideally, remove the molded part while it is still slightly damp and attach it directly to your project using suitable glue.
    • For vertical surfaces, temporarily fix the ornament with weakly adhesive tape until it has dried.
  3. Working with casting resins:
    • Casting resins cure completely and show no shrinkage or warping.
    • The finished ornaments are more stable and particularly durable.
    • If you want to adapt the ornament to a curved surface, remove it from the mold before the resin has completely hardened.
    • Pay strict attention to the correct mixing ratio of resin and hardener – precision is crucial.
    • Only use fresh, unexpired resin.
    • Please do not use open flames or hot air blow dryers to remove bubbles – this can damage both the mold and the resin.
  4. Demolding:
    • Demolding is usually effortless by gently bending the silicone mould.
    • In the case of clay, lightly dusting the mold with cornstarch or arrowroot can help.
    • A mold release agent is strongly recommended for resin in order to maintain the service life of the mold.

Sealing & further processing of the molded parts:

  • depends on the medium used!
  • After complete drying or hardening, the ornaments can be sanded, painted or patinated.
  • For furniture and decorative objects, a final sealing with a water-based varnish or wax is recommended – depending on the desired look.
  • A robust lacquer sealant is advisable for surfaces subject to heavy wear or moisture.

Care & durability of your IOD molds:

  • Clean the molds promptly after each use with warm water and mild detergent.
  • Do not use sharp tools, scouring pads or aggressive chemicals.
  • Allow the molds to dry completely before storing them.
  • Store IOD Moulds flat, away from direct sunlight and heat.
  • With proper care, the molds retain their elasticity and attention to detail over the long term.
