Annie Sloan’s “Traditional Gold” Metallic Paint is a warm, antique-inspired gold shade for decorative accents. It’s perfect for creative projects where you want to add a metallic gold finish to details, ornaments, or select surfaces.
Depending on the substrate, application method, and number of coats, different effects can be achieved. Before application, the paint should be thoroughly stirred and applied to a clean, dry, and suitable surface.

Preparation
The surface should be clean, dry, and free of dust and grease. Any existing layers of wax, silicone residue, or care products should be completely removed before painting.
On surfaces that have already been painted, the existing paint should be completely dry. Smooth or very glossy surfaces may require light sanding or other appropriate preparation, depending on the surface.
Stir the Metallic Paint thoroughly before use so that the pigments are evenly distributed.
Application
Apply a thin, even coat using a flat brush or a small foam roller.
One coat creates a delicate, translucent sheen. For a more intense metallic look, a second coat can be applied.
Allow to dry for approx. 2-4 hours between coats. Do not use outdoors.
Sealing
Depending on the project, no additional sealing is required for decorative elements and low-traffic areas.
For surfaces that are subject to heavier wear, it may be a good idea to apply an additional coat of Chalk Paint™ Lacquer (matte or gloss). Be sure to follow the manufacturer’s current instructions.
Wax can alter the gloss level of metallic paint and is therefore not recommended for this finish.
Care
Clean the surface with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid harsh cleaning agents or abrasive sponges.
If necessary, the metallic paint can be touched up in specific areas.
