With Dixie Belle Silk All-In-One Mineral Paint, you have several application options to choose from. Depending on the project, you can apply the paint with a brush, roller or a suitable spray gun.

Tips for the order

• Brushes: Soft brushes with synthetic bristles are ideal for smooth and even paint application.
• Roller: For larger surfaces, a fine microfiber roller can be used.
• Spray Gun: Silk All-In-One Mineral Paint can also be applied using a suitable spray gun. According to the manufacturer, the paint may be thinned— only for spray application —in a ratio of up to 16 parts paint to 1 part distilled water, if necessary. When applying the paint with a spray gun, follow the manufacturer’s current application and safety instructions.

It’s all in the technology

Apply the paint in thin coats. Depending on the surface, the first coat may still look a little uneven. Applying several thin layers ensures even color coverage.

Important: Silk All-In-One Mineral Paint contains a built-in sealer. This helps reduce the show-through of certain discolorations from the substrate. The built-in sealer is not a primer. For very smooth, non-absorbent, or problematic substrates, appropriate substrate preparation or a suitable primer may therefore still be necessary.

When applying Silk All-In-One Mineral Paint normally with a brush or roller, it is applied without adding water. The dilution with distilled water described above is an exception for spray application.

Drying times and layers

• Let each coat dry thoroughly. The manufacturer specifies a drying time of approximately 4 hours. The actual drying time may vary depending on room temperature, humidity, the surface, and the thickness of the application.
• For most projects, two coats are recommended. Depending on the surface, color, and desired result, additional coats may be necessary.
