Posh Chalk Crackling Gel

Posh Chalk Crackling Gel is a brilliant and innovative gel-based product that is extremely versatile. Use it to build three-dimensional surfaces and create wonderfully tactile textures. Apply a layer of chalk or mineral paint on top and the paint itself will crack!

Posh Chalk Crackles are designed to achieve an aged, worn and weathered look when applied to any surface … literally a finish that cracks! You’ll find that by using the crackle media you can add real character to the project you’re working on, either in specific areas or throughout the piece. Each crackle will be unique in size and shape and give a wonderfully natural feel.

This is how it is used:

Apply the Posh Chalk Crackling Gel generously to a non-absorbent surface (primed or painted) and leave to dry. You can gently speed up the drying process with a hairdryer or hot air dryer. Keep a safe distance from the heat source so that the crackle gel does not burn.
After the gel has dried, apply a suitable mineral or chalk color. The paint starts to crack as it dries! The size of the cracks depends on the thickness of the applied layer of paint.

Allow the surface to dry completely before sealing it or applying decoupage.
