With Moonshine Metallics, you can give your projects a special metallic sheen. These water-based, low-odor metallic paints feature a built-in topcoat and are versatile enough to use on furniture, decorations, and creative projects. Depending on the shade, surface, application, and lighting, different shimmering and metallic effects are created. The various Moonshine Metallics shades can also be combined with one another, allowing you to create unique metallic tones and creative color effects.

Dixie Belle Moonshine Metallics Rozay
Rozay is a delicate metallic blush pink with a rosé-colored shimmer. This shade is ideal for furniture and decorative accents and can be used, for example, over Tea Rose or Soft Pink. When combined with Gold Digger, it creates rose gold-inspired effects.
Dixie Belle Moonshine Metallics are water-based metallic paints designed for decorating suitable surfaces. Depending on the shade, surface, base color, and application technique, different metallic and shimmering effects are created.

For smooth, non-absorbent, or problematic surfaces, appropriate preparation or a suitable primer may be required. Follow the manufacturer’s current instructions regarding this, as well as sealing, drying, and use.

Careful preparation lays a solid foundation for painting with Moonshine Metallics. First, thoroughly clean the surface to remove dirt, grease, and other residues. You can use a suitable cleaner such as White Lightning, Pristine Clean, or Terra Clean by Dixie Belle. If you’re working on previously painted surfaces, the underlying paint should be sufficiently dry or cured, and the surface should be clean and free of dust.
The preparation required for Dixie Belle Moonshine Metallics depends on the material and condition of the surface. For very smooth, non-absorbent, or problematic surfaces, light sanding or a suitable primer may be necessary.
Stir the paint thoroughly before use. Follow the manufacturer’s current instructions for preparation, application, drying, and any necessary sealing.
Drying times and layers
After applying the final brushstroke, let your Moonshine Metallics dry for about 12 hours —or, ideally, overnight—before continuing. The actual drying time may vary depending on temperature, humidity, the surface, and the thickness of the coat.
Moonshine Metallics feature a built-in sealant, so no additional sealing is required for many projects. Depending on the shade, surface, and lighting, the metallic paint creates a variety of shimmering and metallic effects.
For high-traffic areas—such as kitchen cabinets or tabletops—as well as for suitable outdoor projects, an additional sealant may be advisable depending on the intended use. For this purpose, according to the manufacturer’s instructions, you can use, for example, Extra Coat or Gator Hide can be used.
Please note that applying an additional sealant may alter the original appearance and shine of Moonshine Metallics. Depending on the finish used, different surface effects can be achieved:
