Miracle Medium MM0 by Michael Harding is a solvent-free, odorless, vegan and plant-based oil medium that was developed as a contemporary alternative to classic solvents such as turpentine. It offers artists a natural and sustainable way to thin oil paints, increase transparency, apply glazes and clean tools – without the use of harsh chemicals or harmful fumes.
The medium improves the flow and handling of the paint without compromising the stability or integrity of the paint film. The color depth and pigment strength are retained, while controlled, even and fine paint applications are possible. Miracle Medium is particularly suitable for glazes, fine detail work and a deliberately built-up layer application.
Depending on the dosage used, Miracle Medium can extend the drying time of the oil paint moderately. Adding around 5-10 % to the paint is sufficient to achieve the desired properties without jeopardizing the long-term stability of the paint film.

Careful project preparation is the basis for stable, long-lasting results in oil painting. The painting surface, colors and working method should be consciously coordinated before you start painting.
The surface must be suitable and prepared. Canvas, wood or painting boards should be primed to ensure even adhesion and to prevent the binder from penetrating.
The choice of materials is also crucial. High-quality oil paints, suitable media and clean tools facilitate controlled work. It is advisable to plan the color palette in advance and consider properties such as transparency, pigment type and oil content.
Thoughtful preparation creates calm in the process and gives you the freedom to concentrate fully on color, expression and artistic decisions.
Miracle Medium MM0 can be used in different ways. Artists can lightly dip the brush into the medium before picking up the paint to achieve the desired consistency and smoother flow.
To dilute the paint, mix a very small amount of the medium directly with the oil paint. Miracle Medium is highly effective and should be used sparingly. Start with a few drops and keep the amount of medium to a maximum of 5-10 % of the paint volume. A higher dosage can weaken the paint film and have a negative effect on drying.
The medium is ideal for glazing techniques, fine detail work and controlled layer painting. Transparent, luminous layers of paint can be built up evenly without losing color intensity. Between layers, the underlying layer of paint should tighten slightly to maintain clarity and depth.
Miracle Medium MM0 can also be used to gently clean brushes. After painting, rinse out any excess paint in the medium and then clean the brushes with water and mild soap.
No sealing is required during the painting process. A final varnish should only be applied once the finished oil painting is completely dry. Depending on the layer thickness and paint application, this can take several months to a year.
Finished works should be protected from direct sunlight, high humidity and strong temperature fluctuations. A soft, dry cloth is sufficient for care and cleaning. Damp cleaning agents or chemical substances should be avoided.

Conforms to ASTM D-4236 and with a rating of 0 for health, flammability and reactivity according to NFPA and HMIS, this medium is considered safe for studio use.
Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes. In case of skin contact, clean with soap and water. In case of eye contact, rinse thoroughly with water. Not suitable for consumption. Keep out of the reach of children.
The product is not flammable. Observe general safety precautions for artists’ materials.
